War and Order Guide – Farming to Get More Resources for Free
This War and Order guide will focus on how to get more resources for free in War and Order. While the cost is free it will require some effort and time on your part. You may choose to speed things up by spending real money on gem packs and boosters.
What you will learn in this guide is how to start a new account in War and Order. You will also learn how to easily switch between accounts. Aside from creating new accounts, you will learn the basics of how to manage a successful farm in game. If you want to skip the baby steps and get right into being a pro War and Order farmer, check out the Advanced War and Order Farming Guide.
Introduction to War and Order Farming
Everything in War and Order costs resources. If you want to build, recruit, heal, and grow you are going to need a ton of resources. There are a few different ways to get these needed resources. Below are a few different methods on gathering and getting more resources.
Main Account Gathering
You can gather with your main account and slowly get what you need. You should be doing this anyways. Gathering from your main account brings your resources (RSS) directly to your main castle. This is a major benefit because you are always paying attention to your main castle (also called your main).
Spending Money on Packs and Gems
The second thing you can do is buy a ton of resource packs or just pay for your upgrades in gems. If you want to go this route then plan on spending thousands of dollars to grow quickly. Believe it or not I have friends in game that have spent well over $3,000 on upgrading their castles. This is a personal choice but not the route many can afford.
Asking and/or Begging
There is another option which will be sure to get on everyone’s nerves. This method is to always ask for resources from your alliance. If you go this route, plan on being in several different alliances, because not many people will put up with the constant requests for resources for long.
Don’t get me wrong here; there is a right way to share resources within your alliance. However, if you rely solely on your comrades to help you grow, you will eventually run out of friends and help. In fact, a guide will be coming soon detailing how to run a successful alliance in War and Order. Resource sharing will be included in that guide.
To Farm or Not to Farm
The final and best option for many players is to start a farm. You can have as many farms as you like in War and Order. Farming is a common practice among most players. Many alliances encourage you to have a least one farm.
Once I figured out a good strategy for farming I had 16 farms in total. These farms were bringing me over 100 million wood and 100 million food every four days. The stone and iron were in the range of 30 to 40 million.
Getting Started With A Farm – Start Small
The best thing you can do for yourself is to learn how it works. You want to start small unless you are already experienced. This guide will tell you which soldiers are the best to recruit for farming, as well as what technology to focus on in your college.
There is much more to it than recruiting troops and upgrading your college. It has pretty much come down to a science for a few elite War and Order farmers. You will know everything you need to after reading this guide.
Step One – Create a New War and Order Account
Creating a second account for the first time can be a bit confusing, even scary to some. The fear of losing your main account can set you off. The steps below will ensure you do not lose your account when creating your second account. Creating new accounts beyond the second account will follow the same steps.
Another thing to keep in mind is you can create a new game (new account) every hour. If you try before that, you will receive an error message saying you are creating accounts to quickly. If you see that message, don’t panic. You can just work on leveling your second account for a little bit and give it some time.
War and Order Account Binding
This is the first step to making your first farm. First things first, make sure your current account is bound. You can tell if your account is bound if you go to your account management page. Click on your avatar in the top left corner of your screen. Once there, click “Account” which is the top left box in the menu area.
If your account is bound you will see a little red box that says “Undo Bind” in the top right of the screen. If your account is not bound, you will see large buttons indicating which services you can use to bind your account. In my case I always use Android phones, so I use Google and Facebook to bind my accounts.
Creating the Second Account
Now that your War and Order account is bound, you are ready to start your second castle. To create your additional War and Order account follow these steps (also see the video below).
- Go to your account management page (click your avatar on top left of your screen)
- Click “Account” on the menu (top left box in menu area)
- Double Check to make sure account is bound
- Click on “New Game” – the big red button on the bottom of the screen.
- Click Confirm to Create New Account
- Upon successful account creation you will be taken to the inner city of your new castle
- Play through the intro/tutorial
- Once you reach the quest to create 3 farms, Bind The Account!
It is very important not to forget to bind your farm account as well. Follow the same steps as above (where you checked to make sure your main account was bound). You can bind the account to a new facebook or email (on android).
You are allowed to have two accounts on the same realm per account. This means Email 1 can have Castle 1 and Castle 2 (both on the same realm). For Castle 3 to be on the same realm you will have to bind it to Email 2 or Facebook 1 or 2.
That is just a general example above. As long as your account is bound you have nothing to worry about.

Step Two – Leveling Your Farm Account
Leveling a farm account in War and Order is a little different than leveling your main castle. When leveling your main castle, you are trying to get as high level as possible and focusing on war. A farm account differs here because you really just want to reach level 12 at first. Your tech and Lord skills will need to be focused on gathering and building as well.
Leveling Your Buildings
On a farm, you want to level your main buildings up to level 8. This will allow you to get everything else to level 12 without any trouble. Do not level your castle past level 8 until you have everything else caught up. This means your drill grounds, depot, farms, wood yards, medic tents, etc.
After you reach level 8 on your castle and all of your buildings, you can proceed to push your castle to level 9. Do not level up your depot any more after this point, unless it is required to level your castle. There are a few buildings you will want to level alongside your castle as well.
Keep These Buildings Caught up With Your Castle Level
- Drill Grounds
- Medical Tents
- Blacksmith (to level 10)
- 2 Barracks (minimum)
Each Upgrade Reason Explained
Below you will learn exactly why you want to level the above mentioned buildings. After the primary building explanations, there will be an explanation on the importance of the other buildings.
Leveling your castle to 12 allows you to send out three marches (dependent on learning the tech from your college). Having three marches means you can gather a lot more. Eventually you will want to push your farm to level 15 so you can gather iron as well.
Leveling this will allow you to send more troops per march. This means you can gather more per each march. As your farm grows, you will end up with a lot of troops. You want to be sure you can fill up three marches.
Your hospital determines the amount of troops that will survive during an incoming attack. The higher your hospital level, the more troops it will hold that you can heal. Losing farm troops to an attack can create a setback if you are caught off guard. Be sure your hospital can hold as many troops as possible by keeping it leveled and researching the right tech in your college.
You should have as many medical tents as you are able to place. Keep every one of these leveled up with your castle level. Medical tents increase your hospitals wounded capacity with each level. You will increase your wounded capacity by 500 per medical tent level. If you have 4 tents at level 12 that totals up to a hospital capacity of 24,000 just from tents alone.
Blacksmith (to level 10)
You want to get your blacksmith to level 10 so you can unlock the material creation station. Also you will be able to create level 10 gear. If you plan on keeping your farm around the level 12 to 15 range, you will eventually be wearing all epic (purple) gear.
You want to keep at least two of your barracks leveled up along with your castle so you can create some higher level attack and defense troops. When you come to the point of leveling your farm up beyond level 12 you will have an easier time creating stronger soldiers. That is if you keep your barracks leveled with your castle.
As for the other barracks, you will be creating a specific type of troop and the level can stay around 8 or 10.
You want to keep your watchtower leveled up for two reasons. The first reason is that it will allow you to get the troop counts of incoming attacks. While at level 12 you will only be able to see approximate numbers, it will be handy when you level it up to 15 later on.
The second reason you want to level your watchtower up is because you get free gems as a quest reward with each level. Don’t spend those gems just yet though.
Leveling your wall is required to level your castle. There is no way around it. Once you reach a Wall level of 10, do not recruit golems. Just keep leveling it up as you go.
The rest of your buildings
The Resource Nodes
You want to level your farms, wood yards, and stone mines eventually. You will get further by keeping gathers out bringing in larger sums of resources for right now. This doesn’t mean skip leveling these buildings completely. Level two of each node type to max level alongside your castle. The others, save for once you have reached your Castle level goal, or perhaps when there is downtime and you need something to level.
If you are concerned about the depot and resource amount limits, that topic is next. Be sure you get all of these leveled up quickly.
Your embassy will determine how many people can store reinforcements inside your castle. The larger your embassy, the more troops you can hold. While it is nice to have a higher level embassy, you do not need to put as much of a priority on this as you should the rest of your buildings. If your alliance is able to do timed defenses, you will be ok. If you are not sure about timed defenses, you can purchase the advanced attack strategy guide to learn about it and many other attacks.
You will want to get your college to level 12 eventually; however, it does not need to be the first. If anything, push your college to level 10 and then focus on getting more resources to make the final push to level 12 on everything else. Once all buildings are level 12 (including your college) you can research your third march.
You do not want to max out your depot because you will get less resources when collecting from your main account. Your depot is like a vault for your resources. The higher level your depot, the more resources it protects. You do not need to take it past level 7 for quite some time. Eventually you will need to upgrade to a higher level.
On a lower level farm, a lower level depot means more resources can go to your main account. If you are under the impression that your depot dictates how many resources your account can hold; it does not.
Resource Amounts and Limits Explained
There is no limit as to how many resources your account can have on it. At least there is no limit that my friends or I have ever reached (and we have all been loaded with a TON of resources). There is only one type of resource limit or “cap.”
The only resource cap there is in War and Order is the amount of resources your farm buildings, stone mines, iron mines, and wood yards will hold. This limit is clearly noted if you click on the building itself, and if you click more info from there, you will see what an upgrade offers.
If you do not log into your account for a day, your farms, wood yards, etc will only hold a certain amount before they “stop producing.” To get them to start producing again, you must collect the current resources they are holding. If that doesn’t make sense, feel free to leave a comment below and I will work on trying to clarify it.
Final Thoughts on Buildings
The order in which you level your buildings is totally up to you. Some may find it easier to have that third march sooner. But it does take some time to catch all these buildings up to level 12, manage your main account, and feed your main resources from your farm. Doing all of this while still trying to grow your farm can be a bit confusing and even overwhelming at first.
The best thing you can do for yourself is grow your buildings at your pace. Try your best to keep them all leveled up closely with your castle. You can follow the path of leveling everything to the same level if you like. This means once your castle goes to level 10, you level everything else to level 10 before going to Castle 11.
The other option is to do it in waves. This requires you to have a Golden Hammer active quite a bit. You would level your castle to level 10 and while it is on its way to level 11 you catch up the primary buildings. The choice is up to you, and there is no right or wrong way. I have a specific way of doing it, and it works well for me. (I use the second method of catching buildings up while the castle is upgrading).
Step 3 – How to Collect Resources From Your Farm
This is a popular question among new and longtime players. If you are starting your first farm, you are probably curious how to get the resources from one account to the other. It is actually quite simple. You just need to attack your farm with your main account.
Don’t just blindly run in and attack your farm with your main though. This can lead to mistakes like killing all of your farm troops, killing a bunch of your main account troops, or killing your friends who may be sitting in your embassy.
Collecting Your Resources The Right Way
Sounds silly I know, but I myself have made the mistake of just charging at my farm and completely forgot to take the following steps I’m about to list. I lost several troops on both my main account and my farm, so hopefully this advice will help you prevent the same.
Clear Out Your Troops
The first thing you need to do before attacking your farm with your main, is to clear out your farm troops. Send them all gathering, preferably on a long march or to an elite resource tile if you have some available.
Be sure if you send your farm troops to a nearby resource tile that they will be collecting more than 10,000 of any resource. This will help ensure your farm troops will stay gone long enough for you to clear the farm with your main account.
Use Your Harvest Skill
If you haven’t used your harvest skill from Lord skills yet. Now would be the time to use it. This will get you a few extra resources on your main account. If you have already used it don’t worry.
Notify The Alliance of Your Farm
This is another very important step. Whatever alliance you have your farm account in, you should notify members in alliance chat that you will be attacking with your main. My message usually goes something like this:
“Hey guys, Chundee here, will be hitting my farm quick, please don’t defend me”
It’s as simple as that. Usually if someone missed the message, another member will speak up to prevent anyone from defending your farm and causing troop losses.
This has become a pretty standard practice, because not everyone knows who is a farm or not. There were quite a few times my friends or myself lost troops because active members would send defensive troops to our farms. (You can’t really get mad at them for wanting to defend you, it just really sucks).
Notify Your Main Account Alliance
Another thing that doesn’t hurt is to let your main alliance know you are going to hit your farm. This will prevent (or at least help prevent) any random members from joining in on the attack and stealing your resources.
While it has not happened to me personally, I know it is something that happens. Sending out a quick message to your alliance is a gentle reminder saying “Hey, don’t steal my sh*t”.
Send Your Attacks Quickly
If you are going to collect a ton of resources (in the two or three million of each range), it might not hurt to activate a 1 hour VIP. This will help speed up your march. This is more important when you have several farms to clear out. It became a standard practice for me.
You want to get your attacks out and back quickly so no outsiders or vultures try to take advantage. This doesn’t happen often, but sometimes you are focusing on cleaning your farms and an enemy will strike you while you aren’t paying attention.
The quicker you get your farms cleared the quicker you can get back to being a badass.
A Few Final Words on Farming in War and Order
While this is not the complete guide (a complete guide is in the process, sign up to the newsletter to find out when it’s complete). These are some great first steps to get you going on your way. You want to focus on your first farm, once you are comfortable with it, then create another.
You will want to place your farm somewhat close to your main castle. This way you can hop over to your farms alliance to defend it quickly if needed. Also, having your farm close to your main castle makes clearing it out much faster. Do not worry about where the alliance territory is for the farm, you can send your troops out on a half hour march to elite tiles, and you won’t be on the account more than a few minutes here and there anyways.
This is not the end of the War and Order farming guide. There are a few more advanced guides that will be coming up soon that explain the finer details to getting more resources in game.
